AGM MEETING NOTES

Ad Hoc Outlaws AGM and Awards Friday 14 th November 2025 at the Mulberry Bush, 89 Upper Ground, Southbank, SE1 9PP
Present: Sam, Rob, Chris, Aakash, Mark, Tom L, & JL, and Sneha, Aakash’s friend. Husain arrived at the end. (Apologies had been received from Simon, Freddie E, Freddy C, Ashwin, Abbas and Michael (although he dropped off two shirts).
THE AGM
1. JL reported that the Win/ Loss graph had taken a downward turn: 3 wins out of 13 matches played. However on the financial front, since the increase of match fees, there was a surplus of £137.51 (this could rise to £200.01 if the remaining 3 debtors paid up).

2. In the ensuing discussion it was agreed to raise match fees to £10, and totally revise the fines/ incentives regime to give more encouragement for good performances (see Tom L’s summary). The objective is to build up reserves/ float so that when a new treasurer takes over from JL they do not have to fund the outpayments for pitches at the beginning of the season from their own pocket (e.g. the payment to Regents Park in April for 9 bookings is over £1,000).

3. It was agreed to continue the split between Regents Park and Chiswick but as JL would probably not get to as many games next year, a captain would be allocated to each game at the beginning of the season, and they would assemble and manage the team.

4. We thanked Sam, Rob, Tom L, Biggles and Husain for captaining, Zach for arranging the fixtures and Biggles for all the scoring, stats and website updates. JL was thanked (thank you) for general organization and sorting out the money.

5. Going forward Chris volunteered to keep the website up to date (if told what to say),and Tom kindly offered to sort out the fixtures in consultation with Zach. This leaves us with the need to find someone to upload the scoring and stats now that Biggles has fled northwards. The use of Google Forms and/ or Play Cricket Scorer will be considered.

Awards 2022

Report of Ad Hoc Outlaws CC AGM 2022:
Mon 10th October 2022, at The Mulberry Bush, Upper Ground, SE1 9PP

It was good to see Messrs Zach, Tom L, Husain, Sam, Biggles, Toby, Kalpesh, Michael McC, Henry and J Law last Monday for the Awards and AGM. Apologies had been received from Tushar, Jish, Dan, Chris M, Howard, Mike E, Benn, Diago, Matt C and Justin.

We have had a good season, played 14, won 10, tied 1. No games were completely lost due to the weather; two had to be rescheduled, one due to rain, and one due to extreme heat (compared to 6 lost last year). We are showing a £41.54 surplus this season, after AGM costs of £60 are deducted, thanks to the number of matches played, and the voluntary application of the fines regime. Another £68.50 is owed by a few players, and J Law will follow this up next season in his capacity of acting treasurer.

A big thank you to Zach for a full fixture list, but he gave notice that he would like to give up being Fixture Sec after next year. Volunteers please to shadow him for the next 12 months. And a big thank you to Biggles for the match reports, imaginative naming of oppo players, and loading all the stats on Play-Cricket. Thanks too to Sam and Tom for skippering the sides so well. We wouldn’t know where to field without their gentle encouragement …

Three new shirts are still to be procured: Butterfingers (most fines for dropped catches – MMcC this year), Geoffrey (for running out one’s partner – MMcC again), and Boycott (lowest strike rate (min 5 innings) – J Law).

Finally, congratulations to Sam and Diago on their entry into the Ad Hoc Batting Hall of Fame. They both passed 500 runs for Ad Hoc this year. Well done!

For a detailed list of the Awards, please see the website, but applause please for Zach (Player of the Year, and Bowler of the year), Sam (Batsman), Justin (Fielder), and Michael (All-Rounder). Dan gets the Bunny shirt (Zach has it to give him), Zach the Wide Boy (Dan has this at the moment), Chris Mallins will get the Pie Chucker shirt once it is retrieved from Josh Trott, and J Law the Mallard shirt when it is found.

Keep well, and keep posting on the WhatsApp group.
