Ad Hoc CC Cricket Award 2012
T20 Cricket Awards Night
It was a good evening last Friday; awards were graciously accepted, we put the world to rights, and we debated Ad Hoc CCC's Rules and Regulations (see attached); an exercise in trying to describe the spirit of our inclusive philosophy. Whether we have improved or worsened the application of our "carefree approach as long as we win", we'll have to wait and see. The "Fines" section should be read as a light-hearted means of enhancing our income, to prevent an increase in the £5 match fee. We made a £52 loss on the season, but with the lef over float from Friday, and if Pratik (£10) and Sardar (£5) settle up unpaid match fees sometime, we'll break-even. We also took the decision to drop the use of Teamer. It hasn't proved to be efficient as we never achieved the critical mass of respondents, and squad rotation was difficult to organise with so many (5) games cancelled (played 12, won 7, using 26 players).
Next season it looks as though we won't be going to Hampstead Heath, except as an away fixture, if I can get pitches at Putney and Regents Park. The reason being the cost of insurance, and the poor quality of the wickets. And, importantly, watch out for info on an Ad Hoc Cricket Tour, probably to Felixstowe and elsewhere in Essex, over the last weekend in July (e.g. Fri 26/7 (evening 2020) to Sun 28/7). Stephen and Graeme are organising it, but block off the dates now!
For the record (and for those of you who didn't make it on Friday) the main awards were:
Jish Uddin : Catch of the Year
Graeme Searle: Most Under-used Bowler of the Year (Best figures of 2 overs, 2 maidens, 0 runs, 1 wicket)
Sardar Mayana: All-Rounder of the Year (118 runs, 7 wickets, 2 catches, 2 stumpings)
Stephen Lord: Fielder of the Year (5 catches)
Stephen Lord: Bowler of the Year (10 wickets, at the best Economy Rate (3.7 runs/ over))
Zach Mendelsohn: Batsman of the Year (140 runs; average 15.6)
Stephen Lord : Player of the Year
